Confessions of a Garage Sale Addict

I hardly ever participate in the selling part of Garage Sales,
because I enjoy the buying part too much (don’t tell my husband)!
I usually get together with a work friend or go by myself on
Friday, as we get out mid-afternoon. If I go Saturdays with
my sister Sue, we always do lunch and shop at the local stores;
it’s part of our routine. But Friday is my best day, since
the real “good stuff” and unusual “treasures” won’t be there
by Saturday!
Avon Attic Days is the exception to the above
rule- Some sales aren’t open on Friday, so I also set aside
Saturday to go to those I didn’t see on Friday. Now that Lima
and Caledonia will be joining Avon this year and this event
will probably grow bigger each coming year, I will be setting
all three days aside!
Hot tip: I tear out the Genesee Valley
Penny Saver’s weekly Garage Sale page, circle all the sales
I want to attend, and then number each one according to where
I plan to start and go from one to another without backtracking
or going out of the way, only to come back to catch the next
one. The number system really saves me time and gas. |
